Oliver Avram, Ph.D. He is a researcher at the Laboratory of Automation Robotics and Machines (ARM-Lab), SUPSI-DTI-ISTePS. He got his doctoral degree in Manufacturing Technologies and Production Systems at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He has more than 16 years R&D and coordination experience in EU-funded, national and industrial projects, with main research activities in the fields of modelling, testing, instrumentation, monitoring and optimization of manufacturing processes. He has also been working on the development of kinematic solutions and adaptive trajectory planning to support the control of reconfigurable industrial robots and the development and automation of advanced manufacturing strategies and hybrid process chains for digital manufacturing systems.
Currently, he is pursuing the development of a collaborative task authoring environment at the intersection of cognitive robotics and ethical manufacturing, aiming to endow robots with deliberative capabilities needed to adapted their behaviors to the changing dynamics of various manufacturing settings.
