FLUENTLY redefines the dynamics of collaborative industrial environments by integrating artificial intelligence with human interaction. This innovative synergy is designed to streamline operations and alleviate the cognitive and physical burdens on operators, enhancing both efficiency and safety. Fluently introduces two key elements:

The Smart Interface Revolutionizing human-robot communication, this interface allows operators to effortlessly command robots using speech and gestures, adapting robot behavior in real-time to operator conditions and optimizing performance.

The Robo-Gym: A training and testing facility where humans and robots learn to collaborate. This environment helps robots and operators to adapt seamlessly to each other, improving cooperation and efficiency.

The Robo-GYM

The Robo-Gym is a multifaceted environment for robotics and human-robot interaction. It functions as a dynamic simulation space for testing and refining robotic algorithms, including those involving machine learning, enabling robots to learn in varied scenarios and as a comprehensive training facility for operators, equipping them with skills to interact with robotic systems. The Robo-Gym also operates as a hub for human-robot integration, focusing on enhancing physical and cognitive collaboration between humans and robots.

The smart Interface

The Fluently Software embodies an integrated software architecture designed for efficient human-robot interaction. It leverages the Robot Operating Systems (ROS) to facilitate seamless communication across various applications essential for robot operations. A significant aspect
of the Fluently Software is its ability to integrate and process data from a variety of sensors that constantly monitor the operator psychophysical status.


The Fluently Hardware is an hardware platform comprising the H-Fluently and R-Fluently units, each serving distinct roles in facilitating human-robot interaction. The H-Fluently unit, focuses on capturing and processing audio and physiological data from human operators, communicating via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The R-Fluently unit, interprets this data, translating it into robot commands and handling robot feedback for human operators.

Objectives

Zero Scraps

The project aims to minimize waste and inefficiency in manufacturing processes by constantly monitoring operators' physical status and integrating informed decision-making capabilities within robots. These capabilities allow robots to detect potential errors or inefficiencies before they result in scrap.

Reduced ramp-up times

The project aims to reduce the time required for setting up industrial processes to reach full productivity. This involves streamlining the human-robot training process through the Robo-Gym, where both humans and robots can learn and adapt to each other and respond to operational demands. The advanced AI capabilities of the FLUENTLY system enable rapid integration and configuration of robots to new tasks, effectively shortening the ramp-up periods.
